Sony A-100 DLSR created by Akeke on Nov 5, 2006:
Akeke said at 3:49 a.m. on Nov 5, 2006:
My newest camera (after Canon PowerShot). Excellent Image stabilizer, fast and easy to use. And we had lenses with old Minolta mount and you can use them on A-100
Akeke said at 3:52 a.m. on Nov 5, 2006:
Lenses used when taking macro shots: Sigma 70-300 1:4-5.6 Macro (200-300). See http://www.sigmaphoto.com/lenses/lenses_all_details.asp?id=3304&navigator;=3

Min focus at 95 cm at Macro 200-300

I think you have a great camera! I use the Konica Minolta DLSR Dynax 5D (the predecessor of your Sony A-100) with additional lenses: a Sigma 70-300 APO lens, a Minolta 18-70 lens, a Sigma 100 mm macro lens and a Tamron 28-200 lens. This camera also has a great built-in image stabilizer.

We were actually was on the way of buying a Dynax 5D when Sony announced A100

Canon PowerShot with Raynox M-250 created by Akeke on Nov 5, 2006:
Akeke said at 3:36 a.m. on Nov 5, 2006:
Very good camera. To be able take close-ups I bought an adaptor at Lensmate. To the adpator also a Raynox M-250 that magnifies twice. Since there's a image stabilizer and you can rotatethe LCD-screen I get sharp good picture. I am not using tripod, most often zoom medium and focus manually; that is setting the focus first and then move the camera.

thanks about the info regarding the raynox m-250, I just placed an order or the newest Canon Rebel XTi and can't wait to snap a few decent shots

I use a PENTA IST DS 6 mega with a Pentax 100mm Macro 4-32 and Sigma 28-300 mm ...with Macro I ude 3x and 4x close-up lens. My question is how to acheive perfect focus on really near shots..I use a tripod also and use automatic shutter release...
Akeke said at 7:17 a.m. on Nov 12, 2007:
Use Manual Focusing and try, try try :-) Åke

Yes I left out this detail too...and thanks for the tip....do you believe that the external lighting gives you a sharper focus or not?
Akeke said at 8:26 a.m. on Nov 12, 2007:
I think using existing light is the challenge but I sometimes use fillin flash.
