I thought I'd post it here too... I started the group to share little silly stories that I created in Tabblo's book format, I've been drawing those stickish people for awhile and i like the effect of presenting them in Tabblo's book format.. so I've created several Tabblo books using it.. but then I found that the books won't show up in Tabblo's navigation bar, and when you added them to groups, the group info won't show up in the book.. so I thought it'd be nice to have a group just for books... so the storybook group will basically take anything if it's in Tabblo's book format and if it tells a story ... so you can draw your own, or you can use your photos and put them in a book format to tell the story... i hope it's more clear now.. :P once again, thanks for joining :)

Thoughts on Book Creation created by DVP on Mar 30, 2007:

I've had a couple of quetions about book quality. I can say that I've ordered 2 minibooks from Tabblo and have been happy with the quality of both of them. For those who don't understand book printing, the printing technology relies on using tiny little dots of color to create photographs. This is a different print process than getting one of Tabblo's posters. Your photos won't be as smooth looking as a photograph, however they won't be obviously 'dotted' either. Unless you're really looking for faults, the quality is very good. When creating your book, try and remain aware of the centre margin (called a gutter). Don't put anything too close to that margin that you might consider important. The more pages in your book, the more careful you have to be of your gutter. Equally, be aware that the outer edges also get trimmed marginally to provide edge to edge printing. When I made my minibook I didn't know that you can add additional pages to the minibook at no extra charge so I had to cut back on my project pretty substantially. However, I was still very pleased with the results. Tabblo books are well printed. I have given away some of my mini books and the receipients all said WOW. I can heartily recommend the service. Anybody else have ideas and tips to pass along on creating your very own Tabblo book?

Thanks a lot for posting this, DVP! You've provided some great info and tips here. I've yet to order mine, but a bit worry because all the books I've created so far are drawings from paint or photoshop.. I'm afraid they'd be obviously 'dotted' :P

Whya as long as you're working at 225dpi in photoshop you'll be bang on with what Tabblo is printing. If it's lower it'll probably be fuzzy or jaggy but not likely dotty. :) The folks at Tabblo are obviously concerned about quality too, so I wouldn't worry too much.
