21-gramm said at 9:43 a.m. on Sep 27, 2008:
Hi, everyone!
I have a problem, I can`t manage Tabblo on my groups. The order Yabblo turned itself off, and now the new Tabblo caught in the end, and old at the beginning. If I click the asterisk to change tabblo on top of the page, the movement does not occur.
Help me, please!
Ericf said at 10:51 a.m. on Oct 2, 2008:
Are you still experiencing these issues?
21-gramm said at 3:08 p.m. on Oct 2, 2008:
Yes, I do, Eric!
Click on asterisk didn`t moves a tabblo at the top, although the order tabblo on the groups is corrected, there are new tabb at the beginning and old at the end.
Ericf said at 3:32 p.m. on Oct 2, 2008:
I'll get back to you on this when it's resolved. Thanks!
21-gramm said at 7:39 p.m. on Oct 2, 2008:
Thank you, Eric!

Welcome created by Lifequest22 on Sep 25, 2008:
Lifequest22 said at 12:55 p.m. on Sep 25, 2008:
It would be nice if Tabblo had a welcome blurb which explains what Tabblo is and "What's New/Updates" on the Home page. It would make it more friendly and inviting. and a link to about Tabblo which is currently located on the botton and seems obscure. I noticed a little header: "News." But it's barely noticeable.

Well, just a suggestion.
Ericf said at 12:59 p.m. on Sep 25, 2008:
Thanks for the great suggestion!

Please add text and interlocking photo layout! created by HebronMommy on Jul 25, 2008:
HebronMommy said at 10:34 p.m. on Jul 25, 2008:
I know I requested this before, but there was no response. I LOVE the photo size options on the Interlocking Photos layout where the photos can be anything from little squares to all the way across the page, but please create this layout with a text added option. It is so time consuming to go back and add text later. And, trying to build the tabblo from the lightbox is almost impossible with so many teeny, tiny pictures! Please! Thank you!
Ericf said at 9:14 a.m. on Aug 5, 2008:
You can certainly drag a text block into any one of the fields on any of the formats, even the interlocking photo format. Try it and let me know how it works out for you.
HebronMommy said at 3:42 p.m. on Aug 20, 2008:
I know you can drag text blocks in, and I do, but when I'm working with a 100 photos or so, it's a matter of continuing to shift them all down to make room for the text blocks, as I add quite a few. If I try to work with the photos from the lightbox, they're really too small to see and it's really hard to do. It would just be so much easier to have an interlocking photo layout (that uses all the sizes of photos, even the little squares) that also inserts text blocks that I can move around or just have them create negative space that I can move to where I need to add text.

Text options?? created by HebronMommy on Jul 1, 2008:
HebronMommy said at 3:56 a.m. on Jul 1, 2008:
Will there be a way to change text style or at least color again. I miss being able to customize the color of my title and of the text boxes without having to change each box individually.
Ericf said at 8:55 a.m. on Jul 1, 2008:
You can customize those features by clicking the "Style" tab while in edit mode and then click the "Customize a Style" link on the left side of the new tab.

If you have any trouble make sure to let me know.

Ericf said at 2:05 p.m. on Jun 25, 2008:
I know everyone would like the search functionality restored. We're all Tabblo users ourselves and see the value in being able to search through Tabblo content.

We're investigating our options and plan on reinstituting the search functionality in the mid-term future. Thanks for being patient while we work on this issue.
Akeke said at 3:24 a.m. on Jun 27, 2008:
I actualy found a workaorund: See http://www.tabblo.com/studio/stories/view/1516342/

Since the search box is removed I discovered another way to search. I just add a tag with the "word" I am looking for and then click Tag. Tada!

Example: You are looking for Prague. Add a tag "Prague" to any Tabblo, then click the tag Prague.

I'm in total agreement on this. I really miss the search feature. It was very helpful in finding Tabblos, people, photos, groups, discussions, everything. It helped tie us all together.

PLEASE BRING BACK THE SEARCH FUNCTION!

Thank You.

So, how long is "Soon" going to be?
Perusing through this feature list, and looking at this topic, it seems that the request for "Search" has been out there for many months.

I am shocked and significantly surprised that there is not a Search on a professional site as this is. And even more so that it was taken off in the first place.
Akeke said at 11:50 a.m. on Nov 19, 2008:
As we have not got any explanation we can only guess. The search function was remove after a new owner (HP). Maybe they want to degrade the site?? Perhaps Tabblo.com cant afford a server for search-index? Perhaps someone don't want people to connect? Can you think of any plausible reasons??

Expand or Flow Down Feature or Add Text to Interlocking Layout created by HebronMommy on Jun 24, 2008:
HebronMommy said at 5:00 p.m. on Jun 24, 2008:
I would love it if you would add a feature that would shift down or un-overlap the pictures by moving things down. Or, if you would add a layout that is the interlocking mix of photos that includes the small sizes (where pictures can be a small square or a long stretch across the page) that also includes text. My problem is that I add text into my Tabblo, but my favorite layout is the interlocking mix of photos where I have the most control over their sizes. However, when I change the sizes around manually and make some larger and add text, it requires me to constantly drag all the photos down to add space. I used to be able to switch between manual and automatic mode and it would flow the photos down and adjust the text boxes I added or the resizing I'd done. Thank you for any help!
I know that one work around is to add photos as I go, but I usually work with a 100 photos or more and it's so hard to see them in the little light box. It's much easier to move them around within the Tabblo.
Ericf said at 2:07 p.m. on Jun 25, 2008:
Have you attempted to use the "Reflow to fit" option under the "Advanced" tab in the editing toolbox?
HebronMommy said at 4:38 a.m. on Jul 1, 2008:
Yes, I tried "reflow" and it was the disaster I anticipated. Everything I had arranged already got reshuffled and moved around and completely messed up. I'm so thrilled that the "undo" is finally working - that's wonderful, because it's the only thing that saved me!

User inbox filling up! created by AliDar on Jun 18, 2008:
AliDar said at 6:19 p.m. on Jun 18, 2008:
I'm starting to get worried about the amount of messages in my Tabblo inbox. I would like to clear out a lot of the past messages I've received but doing so one at a time is a major pain. Is there anyway that could be implemented that would make it so that we could select more than one message at a time, so we can delete a large grouping of them at once?
ConnieL said at 9:20 p.m. on Jun 18, 2008:
I agree with Dar...a way to delete more than one at a time would be great. Also, perhaps I've missed it, but is there a way to delete from the sent folder?
Lifequest22 said at 11:30 a.m. on Jun 20, 2008:
Ditto on the above comments.
Ericf said at 9:01 a.m. on Jun 24, 2008:
Currently the only way to delete messages is one at a time. You've made a great suggestion though and I'll be sure to bring it up and then post here with some more information.

MichelleMc said at 7:27 p.m. on May 30, 2008:
Hi, is it possible to add different styles of photo layouts, for example: three or four or more pictures all overlapping and slanted on one page? Or maybe being able to add five or more pictures to a tabblo? Just curious? Thanks!
Saulblum said at 11:55 p.m. on Jun 1, 2008:
You can add as many photos as you'd like. Start with one of the basic layout styles that arranges all the photos in a grid, and then start resizing from there. Under the Advanced tab, you can turn on overlapping. There isn't a way, however, to angle photos beyond multiples of 90°.

Contacts/My Circle created by BeachLuvr on May 28, 2008:
BeachLuvr said at 10:00 a.m. on May 28, 2008:
I've been begging for a way to organize my contacts from practically the beginning of Tabblo. It would be really great to be able to have different contact lists, like friends, family, business, etc, with different privacy settings for each group (i.e. only people from my "friends" list can see certain tabblos, "family" can't view my "friends" tabblos, etc).

In that vein, I really need to be able to identify my invitees! Once they register with Tabblo and have a screen name, the email address is hidden. And often the screen names bear no resemblance to the email addresses. If nothing else, please continue to map the email->screen name in the list of invitees.
Pdtclan57 said at 12:00 p.m. on May 28, 2008:
I agree with all of this. Would be a big help. I have never understood the reason why email addresses would be blocked from me, given they are my invitees. I'd also like to see the screen names as I have defined them (ie same as my address book) along with the eMail addresses.

Hope you get some action on this.

YorkJodi said at 4:08 p.m. on May 25, 2008:
This is actually a Tabblo Feature Request... rather than a gripe about issues...

See my tabblo above... Is it possible to have some sort of a map that would show where the people in your circle live... Similar to what ClustrMaps does for blogs...
OR will ClustrMaps work, to join it, add it to your tabblo home page??

Is anyone else interested in this?? You could "collect" people from all over the world, see how many countries are represented. I think that would be fun!!

Thanks for "thinking about this"... Jodi
YorkJodi said at 9:25 a.m. on May 30, 2008:
You will see in the "comments" section of my tabblo (above) that quite a few other tabbloers think this would be a neat idea...

Please let us know what you at tabblo headquarters think... Jodi

Lack of feedback in this forum is not accurately reflective of frustration created by HebronMommy on May 23, 2008:
HebronMommy said at 8:48 a.m. on May 23, 2008:
Until I sent an e-mail to "contact us" and was told about the Tabblo Feature Requests, I had not even known it was here. I was encouraged to share my frustrations this way so that others could comment, too. Until then, every comment I had to make went directly through the contact us e-mail. I would bet that there are lots of others, like me, who are very frustrated with the new controls or the lack of the controls, but don't know how to let you know. So, when only a few people say they want a certain control back, I'd multiply that number by 5 or 10 or more to get a more accurate number of who feels that way.
Ned said at 8:51 a.m. on May 23, 2008:
Believe me, we understand the depth and breadth of sentiment among Tabblo users. We are working to bring back the tools that have enabled such amazing creativity in the past. The last thing we want to do is limit what you can do with Tabblo.
JeroldsSis said at 11:27 a.m. on May 23, 2008:
So if I understand this correctly, we are getting back the old tools, like grid size, etc.?? Please tell me yes!!

Please add "automatic" back; thank you for adding manual back! created by HebronMommy on May 23, 2008:
HebronMommy said at 8:44 a.m. on May 23, 2008:
I still can't get a Tabblo to layout correctly since you removed so many tools. I almost always use the interlocking photos layout, but I add text (since there's no layout option that has both) and I also adjust the sizes of the photos. When the Tabblo is created, most of the photos are very small, so I always used the automatic mode to shift the photos down when I make enlargements or add text boxes. It takes so much extra work and time to move 50+ photos in and out of the lightbox (where it's hard to see which ones you're working with) or to manually move everything down and down and down to create the necessary space. Please bring back the automatic or create a control that will shift down any overlapped photos/textboxes to create space.
Or, like I suggested before, could you have 2 sets of tools - an advanced and a basic. Those of us who are used to and want and need the old tools could use the advanced tab and everyone else could use the basic.

Andre. said at 12:28 p.m. on May 19, 2008:

Ericf said at 8:49 a.m. on May 20, 2008:
How is it difficult for you? I've not heard complaints about adding photographs until the two of you and I'm curious where you're running into problems.
Pdtclan57 said at 1:50 p.m. on May 20, 2008:
Hi Ericf,
I am not having troubles adding photos uploaded after I have begun a Tabblo, but I do not seem to be able to put a photo from a Tabblo in work back onto the lightbox. Am I missing something obvious? This used to be the way I would rearrange the order of photos in a layout.

Related question: how can I prepare my photos before upload so that they make the initial Tabblo in the order I intend? Now they seem to upload in random order. PT
Pdtclan57 said at 12:05 p.m. on May 28, 2008:
To answer one of my own questions: appears hitting the "dreaded" wastebasket edit control icon in a photo's controls now moves it back to the lightbox. Wonder if it always has(??)

Still could use some advice on how to upload photos in a specific order for the initial Tabblo display before editing.

Notivication issue created by YorkJodi on May 16, 2008:
YorkJodi said at 12:42 p.m. on May 16, 2008:
The editing controls issue is a big one, the grid size frustrating... BUT...

I'm still having notification problems...
I have not been getting notifications when new tabblos are made by anyone, when you all comment on my tabblos or send me a message in the inbox... I have to search for these tabblos & comments myself. They say they care... but that it only affects a few people... and now they have this other issue... so when will they ever fix that.

Is anyone else having this problem... it's surely not JUST ME...
Please if you are having notification problems... tell them. Thanks!!

Please bring back our controls. created by AliDar on May 15, 2008:
AliDar said at 2:05 p.m. on May 15, 2008:
Okay, so I've tried to make a new tabblo with the new editing controls, and I'm just about in tears with frustrations. ... first of I use an iMac and iPhoto, so I have to export the photos to a folder somewhere so I can find them with the available uploads provided. I can deal with that, and I guess the iPhoto plugin disappeared awhile ago... but then I tried to use my handy little Firefox plugin Fotofox to upload, and the photos uploaded fine, but there are options with the plugin that allow you to make a tabblo straight from there. You can name the tabblo and set the privacy, all before you even begin. That no longer works. When you click on it's 'View Photos' after the upload, you are sent directly to your all My Photos because a tabblo wasn't created.

Next, I tried to find a layout that fit the size of the photo and cropping I wanted. and there wasn't any. Without the grid choices that we use to have you have to make your image fit in the confines of what is provided by the layout. I couldn't even find a layout , and or style combination, that provided a slot that suited the dimensions of the photos my camera shoots, let alone one that I could use creatively. With the grid choices I was able to either tweak the dimensions to show all of the shot, or resize and crop just the way I wanted it. That can't be done anymore ... so I tried Freeform. Freeform is a joke. There's nothing freeform about it. You still are limited to using a large grid, with the dimensions and spacing decided for you.

Clicking on Manual now only means that you can lay another photo on top of another without them bouncing back into a pre defined position, and even then you have to work at it because if your not careful in your exact placement they will. I haven't tried this yet, but I don't believe overlapping will work any longer, since the photos now always seem bounce into the provided grid, even when you are in Manual mode they still move into position dictated by the large grid underneath.

I have a large screen, as I think many people do, and for those in the know, you use to be able to use the 6 col, no border layout, in manual and with your choice of grid to create a tabblo that had some individuality. By choosing a different grid you were able to get around the no border aspect, you could position your photos where you wanted within the tabblo to create a border with the foreground colour, and there was this little trick I used to extend the border around the bottom by adding a text block beneath my photos but not typing anything, so the foreground border extended around the bottom as well and wasn't cut off anymore. That can no longer be done.

I do however, like the editing tabs; I can get use to the tiny little layout and style icons, with it's descriptive title way off to the left... , and you no longer have to chase the controls all over the page, or click on the button to keep the editing tools in place so that you can access the colour choices on the right, or worry about the fact that if you have too many drop down windows open, you won't be able to see the ok button because it's off of the page. ... And the new graduated colour choice method is wonderful. ... And so is the added ability to change the font, and size of the title. But without grid choices, and the other fine tweaking controls that were included in Manual mode, everything we make from now on has to fit into the layout and style choices provided, and there's no way to be individually creative with your tabblo's design.

I've been at tabblo for well over a year now, and except for my first few tabblos, I haven't created a tabblo without pushing the limits of the provided layouts and styles; what I wanted to do just didn't fit within those confines, and now there isn't any way to do that. The templates might make it easy for those who haven't the time or inclination to be creative with what they make, and that's great; everyone can make a half decent looking tabblo, but for those of us who want more control over what we make, you've taken away our tools. Please bring them back.
JeroldsSis said at 2:09 p.m. on May 15, 2008:
I wanted to make two more Tabblo's with some new, recent photos but I'm not even going to attempt it. In fact, I don't think there's a point in making anymore with this new 'system' in place. Sigh. I really, really loved Tabbblo. I'm sad. :(

Saulblum said at 1:00 a.m. on May 16, 2008:
Here's one trick I found: If you go to a Tabblo that had the grid set to fine, and make a variation of it, the new one will have the same fine grid. So you could start all your new Tabblos by making a variation of an older one. Not ideal, and the old tools should be put back, but a workaround for now.
JeroldsSis said at 1:03 a.m. on May 16, 2008:

I hope I don’t sound rude, but your editing toolset was something that made Tabblo unique.
I don’t know for sure but all this so called changes sound more like HP corporate “strategy” to me. I’m not a programmer, but to tell you the truth I have no idea what the search box has to do with hardware. Please enlighten me on this if you could. It is probably not even my business, but I’m not surprised by the fact that HP is simply eliminating the competition by buying it and trying to make it look like its own 20 bucks printer. I’m not surprised by the changes at all and waiting for more. I hope I’m wrong.
AliDar said at 1:42 a.m. on May 16, 2008:
Saul you are a genius! I just tried what you suggested, once for a tabblo with the fine grid and once for the middle sized one, and they were there... and I could move my photos around just like always. ... you can change the style and content, but there's one problem, you can't change the layout; if you do, You'll loose the grid and just have the one that now comes with the template. ... I agree with you also, this doesn't mean that the old tools shouldn't be restored. ... Maybe if we had known before hand that these changes were going to occur, we could have stock piled up our own templates. ... Thanks for the work around, not perfect, but it helps!
AliDar said at 1:46 a.m. on May 16, 2008:
Chris I suspect that they are either A, waiting to see if this will blow over, or B, passing on what's happening here up the corporate chain of command.
Ericf said at 11:47 a.m. on May 16, 2008:
We appreciate all the feedback and I encourage everyone to voice their opinions. The concerns about the grid selection hasn't fallen on deaf ears and we're aware that many of you are really missing it.

I used to get a lot of emails regarding difficulty with the floating editor box and the new design was meant to address some of those concerns, which I think it does pretty well. Shortly after we launched the new toolbar we added a few functional features and we'll probably add a few more over the coming weeks as feedback is gathered and analyzed.

This forum is a great place to voice your opinion and suggestions and request features . I encourage each and every one of you to do so and rest assured that we do peruse these forums daily, so your voices are being heard.

Sincerely,

Yes... I agree with all of the above... I wrote a reply 2 days ago to Saul's topic on these issues... I see Eric said "only 4 people liked the small grid??" I'm glad to see all of you have responded so he surely knows it is ALL of us who liked it.

I'm still having issues with the notification problem... I have not been getting notifications when new tabblos are made by anyone, when you all comment on my tabblos or send me a message in the inbox...
