WEBISM art movement was founded by artists Dr. Rodney Chang (Pygoya), Honolulu, HI, USA and Ingrid Kamerbeek, Sonthofen, Bavaria, Germany in 2003. WEBISM is a virtual as well as a real life community and at the same time the idea of collaborative creating without borders in space and time. Moreover WEBISM is based on the idea to bring humans from all parts of the world closer to each other thereby contributing to global understanding. WEBISM is not limited to the established art market system but expands its activities on- and offline to new spaces. WEBISM artists work in any media. The original goal to promote worldwide off and online presentation of art was broadened by the idea of using the world wide web itself as art tool. Art activities by members of the group are meant to not only influence individuals but to change the arts as a whole and to conbribute and build a worldwide eCulture.
