These pix came during an aerial tour of Portland, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Adams, and the Columbia River Gorge in which I humbly served as pilot and photographer. The mountain with the crater at the top (and an active, smoking caldera within) is Mt. St. Helens. In some photos of Mt. St. Helens you can see Mt. Rainier in the distance. The other mountain is nearby Mt. Adams.

What are you, 500 feet above these mountains?
Bob said at 10:37 p.m. on Aug 18, 2006:
Antonio, the top of Mt. St. Helens is 8365'. IIRC there existed a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) prohibiting flight below 9500' within 5 miles of the "peak." We flew at >= 10,000, or >= 1635' above the rim. The huge scale of the mountain implies "objects in mirror are closer than they appear," or something like that. ;)
