Hunt for Stripers

This is the tale of 4 goofy fishermen who wanted to get up before sunrise to catch trophy Stripers.  This is also the tale of my Dad's 75th birthday gift from my Mom.  

My brother, Brian, may not have looked the part, but this is a man extremely excited to be out fishing early in the morning.

Beautiful sunrise on Lake Murray.  Looks like good fishing ahead!

Photo above shows how this is suppose to be done.  By the way, note that this boat had downriggers running!

 

Photo at left is suppose to be bait, not a sardine dinner.

Above is a shot of Mom, effectionately known by the Grandkids as Nina, with Dad (aka PawPaw).  While we didn't catch fish other than a few gar on this trip, we had a great time and I know Dad really appreciated the gift from Mom.  Brian, Patrick and I also appreciate the opportunity to spend time together.

Thanks for the wonderfrul pictures of the fishing trip. I hope you boys had a great time....your dad did! The sunrise picture is beautiful but my boys are more beautiful to me.

Tamnjam, thanks for the visit. The gift was that my Mom planned the whole event as a surprise event for my Dad's birthday.

Loved seeing the pictures of Uncle "Daddy" and all my cousins. Been a long time. Looks like it was a great trip and I am sure Lake Murray will never bee the same. Good to see Aunt Carole too. Laura

Esiagian - Thanks for asking, the boat had a plexiglass windshield. I shot this through that windscreen. I should have used a polarizer to eliminate reflections, but these were snapshots without using normal photo techniques.
