kotagede

kota gede. it's an old city within jogjakarta special province in central java.

once upon a time, kotagede [means the great city] was housing complex for the rich people during post-hindu mataram era. then elected as the capital city in mataram kingdom. but kotagede nowadays is the house of jogjakartan silversmiths.

walking along the streets of kotagede, the paths will lead you to the small alleys with old houses. it's so charm and enchanting. far from the busy city scenes.

thanks so much pat, doreen, marranei, jeanine, teo and ania.
- yes pat, we love the stained glass too ... so unique and refelcting the past
- doreen, the fact they have a simple life was suprised us, since in the past this housing complex was built for the haves in mataram era!
- jeanine, being here just like ... wrap in time. and all looks well-kept, even the fact saying already very old. but it made the buildings and all of these art work more valuable!
