This is the view from Payaca, an active volcano close to Guatemala City. Although the specifics of the climb (elevation, etc) escaped me, I would like to mention that I woke up at 5:30 the day after my arrival to climb it. The climb took about 1 and a half hours, and we got to walk on the still hot crust. Not just warm, hot. |

On the right is a "chicken bus", the old souped up school buses that they use as local transport between towns. I took one from Antigua to Panajachel. On the left, the view from the lancha that took me from Panajachel to San Pedro. |

A sign painted in San Pedro. There are a lot of religous stickers and paintings here. |
