grasshopper? Was that for your article??? : )
SeánanForbes said at 8:35 p.m. on Jan 26, 2008:
Thank you both. I am not sure how I got shot four to come out. It was cold and I was trembling and the wind was up and something smiled upon me. Six is something I must have passed again and again before I saw it. The first shot was taken at a rotting barn and every greedy little fibre in me (and they are legion) wants to return there under different layers of cloud cover at different times of day with different lenses and fill far too much time filling far too many photo cards with far too many images. The place is a waiting feast.

Catching up with the slipped-in comment, no, this grasshopper escaped the dinner table. It got fast-caught and freeze-dried.

Kickin' !:)

Not any more, it isn't. (Thank you.)
Pkeener said at 10:49 p.m. on Jan 26, 2008:
there is something about rotting wood in "magic hour" light. or the perfect light on a cloudy day.
SeánanForbes said at 10:52 p.m. on Jan 26, 2008:
There really is.

I like the combination of materials of construction and something of oxide for the old and humid thing, the grasshopper makes it picturesque ... very good idea !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SeánanForbes said at 11:28 p.m. on Jan 26, 2008:
Thank you. I was not sure about including the grasshopper, but begin to think it was a good idea.
Mirella said at 2:40 a.m. on Jan 27, 2008:
...a wonderful idea! the firt shot is fantastic. The poor grasshopper looks almost human; I think he was terrified. Ciao

GREAT job Seanan!!!!!!!

You make me smile, seeing the things in your photos I often see in "nature" myself. Love the warm colours in these, with subject that can feel "cold". I, like Pam, have # 4 and 6 as personal faves. I have som pics of a grate, you inspire me to post them! =)
SeánanForbes said at 11:39 a.m. on Jan 27, 2008:
Oh, please do, Decoy. Join me in the grate land. Mirella, I hope that grasshopper died swiftly, in a gust of wind on a day cold enough that it could feel but little, but I agree with you. There's something about that poor little creature that I understand. Thank you, Tishfish. I know you don't give such praise lightly.

Absolutely lovely, especially no. 2 (no. 2 and 3 look like "before" and "after").

Amazing stuff here. Particularly love the bug and the top right shot.
SeánanForbes said at 9:28 a.m. on Jan 28, 2008:
Thank you, all. Two and three are before and after. Three is the rust shadow left behind when two was moved.

Cool shot Seánan, I love the first one...:)
SeánanForbes said at 1:36 p.m. on Jan 28, 2008:
Thank you. There is this old barn . . . The owners have no idea how much money they could make from letting the space to people with the right kinds of eyes. We'd camp out and check the play of every angle of light.
