Belgium 2003

Assalamualaikum & Hello!

Here are some pictures of my trip to Belgium, way, way back in 2003. This is the first trip I went to with my first ever digital camera (a Sony DCS-P8, 3.2 MP). Unfortunately when I bought it, it only came with a 32MB of memory stick, so there's only so much picture I could take :(

Ghent.

My friends and I started our journey from Stanstead Airport, London and headed to Belgium. We stayed the night in Belgium and on the following day, took a train and went straight to Ghent, Medieval Europe's largest city outside of Paris. We visited a Museum that displayed gruesome mechanical contraptions to torture people. We only spent a few hours at Ghent before proceeded to Bruges.

The following pictures are of Bruges. It is said the city is 'suspended' in time because mostly all of it's building was preserved since the medieval times. You'll never see this kind of architecture in other places. Most pictures were snapped at the Markt (Market), from there we walked to the Burg, a popular place to catch women weave laces. And later we chilled out at a garden near the Lake of Love~~

On the final leg of our expedition, we stopped at Brussels, the capital of Belgium. Brussels is home to the headquarters of NATO and the EU. It's a big city with a lot of attractions, namely various kind of museums. Places we went to are the Grand Place, then went to search of the peeing boy- Manneken Pis, sight seeing at the city and spotted a number of cows in the city, Comic strip museum, Mini Europe, Fine Art Museum.... all that crammed up in just two days!
