oud semarang. or old semarang. situated at the old quarter of semarang, the capital city of central jawa province, indonesia.

an old place that addressed as little amsterdam long time ago. since its drainage system and old bridge [from tawang train station] which across the dam to direction oud semarang.

stroll along this old quarter bring our feeling into the colonial era. sinter emmanuel kerk or also known in javanese language as gereja blenduk [the dome church] is the main landmark of oud semarang.

several old buildings here were successfully renovated. but others, just stay as before. it makes the atmosphere have two faces: nice and forgotten.

beside oud semarang, nostalgic feeling can be found at toko oen. this is our fave resto in this city.

the ambience and authentic recipes remind us to the moments whenever our grandparents [especially grandmas] were busy in the kitchen to cook delicious meals and cookies. whilst talking in dutch and or german languages.

just like wiener schnitzel, kattetonge and kaastengel cookies and rum raisin ice cream or tutti frutti ice cream or domino ice cream.

and not only the eateries. all furniture and old cashier machine at the corner in toko oen drive us into something called nostalgic.
