Nice textures. I especially like the twig on the road. It has a watercolor landscape quality to it.

this is so very nice. i am really partial to the railing shadow. the rivets in corregated metal and the tall glass shelves and windows. can you explain the dif (if any) between grey and gray?
SteveBrisendine said at 1:20 a.m. on Feb 1, 2008:
It's just a preference, as far as I know, although AP style is "gray" except in "greyhound." I chose both for this one because each shot has more than one shade of gray (or grey, if you will). Putting both spellings in the title made me think of some sort of a business partnership, hence the "Ltd."

TRès belles images, bien composées, chacune d'elles constitue un beau cliché.

steve, i have always been confused with grey. even in the art world you see it spelled differently. at any rate, great work, and there is no grey area in my mind that you are one excellent photographer.

This is nice. I especially like the glass blocks with the light reflecting through them. Congratulations on Tabblo of the Day.

I thought grey and gray was the differ between american and brittsh english - I learned grey in school, as I learned colours and not colors. But I may have missunderstood it! =)
I truly love this tabblo, but don't ask for my personal fav.. It works great together! Well done Steve, and a very well deserved tabblo of the day! Congrats! =)

My online dictionary confirms gray to be the American spelling of the British grey. Title particularly appropriate if some shot taken in the US and some in the UK. Regardless, the collection is high on my grayscale;-} Lovely.

I think it's hard to "play with gray", but you did a great work here. Pic #14 is a favorite. Congratulations.

Congrats on TOD, I like the zigzag shadow best
SteveBrisendine said at 6:23 p.m. on Feb 1, 2008:
Thanks, all. The zigzag shadow from the blinds was taken at a cafe in Weston, Missouri. The shadow on the steps and the ice shot also are from Weston, the glass brick from the basement at church, the corrugated shot (and the bottom photo) from a barn near Kansas City and the twig on the sidewalk that runs by a high school here in Mission. I had to work hardest to get the egg carton stack to come out. That was my third attempt, after the previous two were done in by focus issues. I shot half a dozen exposures this time around, and finally got one that didn't make me cringe. Thank you again for all the kind comments.

Brillant work, Steve! Like many who have commented above, you have a superbe "eye"! I agree with Anna, difficult to chose a favorite! Thank you!

Like this very much and now I am learning new concepts from you. Thank you.

Thank you ... that means a lot. I still find it hard at times to think of myself as a teacher.

I like how you took photos of things that we( I know I do, and I have heard others speak of this phenomenon) look at, let lead us on tangents and then shake off for some reason, realizing that we might not be comfortable exploring that path right now.

My favourites of this set are the photo of the stick on the ground and the photo of the rail shadow creeping down the stairs.

So many wonderful shades of GREY...(for some reason I favor that spelling) and congrats on TOD~

There's a certain peacefulness about looking at these simple textures and tones; beautifully done!
Decoy said at 8:46 p.m. on Feb 3, 2008:
Had to look again Steve, and I like it so much! I could have these on my wall, and my feeling is I would never get tired of it! =) It's pure and simple beauty! =)

Very Nice textures ,excellent Tabblo !!
SteveBrisendine said at 9:57 p.m. on Feb 16, 2008:
Thank you ... I do find myself drawn a lot to gray (and grey, too). Not that bright colors are a bad thing, but I love the subtleties in the gray "spectrum," as it were.
