Shooting bridges on the Bay

On the 19th and 20th of February, 2006, I drove to a trade show in San Francisco across the Bay and Golden Gate Bridges, before dawn. I was driving a rented Ford Fusion, which has a fairly flat dashboard. So I set my Nikon 5700 up there, opened the aperature all the way, and took  manual "bulb" shots at ISO 100. These are the results.

An advantage of the Nikon is its flip-out viewer. I could see the picture I was taking, while I was driving, and the camera was on the dashboard. I tried the same later with a Canon 30D SLR and the results sucked.

These are awesome. You need to open up variation access on this tabblo as I'm sure folks here would have a lot to do with these pictures.

Excellent Movement Shots! I need to get you a POD, which is a beanbag with a mount. It's perfect for parking a camera in this position.
