Pirámide del Adivino / Pyramid of the Magician

En la actualidad es uno de los más importantes yacimientos arqueológicos de la cultura maya, junto con los de Chichén Itzá y Tikal. Se ubica en la llamada zona Puuc y es la ciudad más representativa de este estilo arquitectónico.

Se localiza a 62 km al sur de Mérida, capital del estado de Yucatán en México. Sus edificaciones destacan por su tamaño y decoración.

Uxmal fue fundada en el siglo VII, durante la primera ocupación, en el periodo clásico.

Uxmal is a large pre-Columbian ruined city of the Maya civilization in the state of Yucatán, Mexico. It is 62 km south of Mérida, Yucatán, or 110 km from that city on Highway 261 towards Campeche, Campeche), 15 km south-southeast of the town of Muna.

Uxmal is pronounced "Oosh-mahl". The place name is Pre-Columbian and it is usually assumed to be an archaic Maya language phrase meaning "Built Three Times", although some scholars of the Maya language dispute this derivation.

Was funded in the VII century, in the classic period.
