OK, so I'm a couple days late....

The guys finished up with the cabinets on Saturday around 2:30 P.M. So far, we LOVE the kitchen...I think it'll be even better with a countertop, electricity, water & a floor! Gee, am I picky or what??!

The island countertop is stainless steel (with a plastic cover for now...)

Tigre already knows where some food is hidden.....

The pots and pans drawer now has LOTS of pots, pans, casserole dishes and other assorted items in it...it holds an AMAZING amount of stuff!

The EMPTY food pantry---Again, this holds an astounding amount of food! The whole left side (not the door--but the inside parts) is all gluten free food stuff--flours, mixes, noodles, cookies, etc....

The nice thing about the pantry is that I now have room in the hall pantry for other items--cutting boards (regular and gluten free), colanders (regular and gluten free), cookbooks, measuring cups (regular & gluten free), etc. As you might be noticing, we have to double-up on many things because of cross contamination. If Gabby gets gluten from cross contamination, she gets sick. So, it's just easier to have separate pans, cutting boards, etc!

Cool hidden trash can!

All drawers have a self-closing mechanism--you can't slam them, they draw themselves in slowly the last couple inches!

The HUGE new corner cabinet...Right now it's holding cups & glasses. Might rearrange after things calm down here.

The brackets on the back of the island--these will hold a piece of granite to make a table-level surface for the kids (& adults!) to eat on, do homework on, etc.... A bit dangerous till the granite comes in a week or so!

The flooring...to be installed on Wednesday! YIPEE!

Granite--measure today (Monday Feb 4)
