kuta and unknown beaches

kuta beach.  a nice, white sandy beach which situated on the southern coastal zone of lombok, lesser sunda islands group. don't get confused with another kuta beach in bali island.

the famous folklore about kuta beach is about a beautiful princess mandalika from eberu kingdom who decide to suicide herself by jump to the sea. it's caused by her father who invites princes and emperors to fight her as their future wife.

alas, before jump to the seawater from the top of a cliff, she tells the locals, "ku-ta."  means, "i'll stay here with you." and she's changed into thousands colourful seaworm that known as "nyale" by local language.

every year, around february, sasak tribe of lombok commemorate this event entitled "bau nyale". catching the seaworm for eternal love and prosperity.

about 25 miles off kuta beach, there's a small heaven of ours.  it's called as unknown beach since looks like a normal fishing village, without any signboard nor information.

but there, about walking 15 minutes by the confluence of a river and estuary, we can see those cool small islets nearby.

nicholas loves to address it as "james bond island".  meanwhile ukirsari loves to say, "that's sphinx island".  since the shape of these islets can bring us to some imagination.

and thing that we never forget is about our nice meeting with a little girl named bunga [means 'flower' in indonesian language]. she's pretty, nice, very helpful and a hard worker for her family as seaweed picker.

That place looks like paradise, and fantastic story too. I agree with Nicholas, looks like a James Bond island, but the old movies with Sean Connery hehehe.
