Jungle adventures

Costa Rica

October 2006

Visitors to Manuel Antonio National Park have to cross an estuary to enter: Sometimes it's an easy walk across the beach, but if the tide is rising you need to pay a few colonnes to cross by boat. Inside, a relatively flat path through the rain forest follows the coast, with several beaches along the way.

Calvin struggled a bit in the heat and humidity; he much preferred playing in the waves instead. We dragged him along for a hike out to the fourth beach, but it was long past naptime. Doug had to carry the sleeping child nearly 4km back to the entrance.

This is Darienne and Calvin pretending to be trees.
