Infrared

After being inspired by the Tabblo "Valley of Fires" by Engelgrafik, I researched Infrared digital cameras, and found a site that sells specially modified cameras (http://maxmax.com/), and purchased the Sony N1. They remove the infrared filter in front of the sensor, and sell you a filter for  the lens that lets through only infrared light.

 

It has been a lot of fun since then going out and seeing how it "sees" the world. I highly recommend the experience. For more tips on how to post-process the Infrared images, see the following page: http://dgrin.smugmug.com/gallery/1111417.

IR really brings out the composition aspect of the photo but with a twist...its like b/w in 3D. awesome.
