I was caught by the griffin, thinking it reminded me of the Peugeot logo, but the Peugeot logo uses a lion rather than a griffin. Checking the web I found that both symbols are a thousand years and more old. And this led me to find the story of Ferrari's prancing horse symbol, a slightly newer legend.
