Bethe27 said at 9:25 a.m. on Feb 20, 2008: Beautiful!! Be safe!
SeánanForbes said at 9:41 a.m. on Feb 20, 2008: High praise, Steve. Jantass, I can't count the exclamation marks -- so many. Thierry, we have that fascination in common. Mille grazie, Mirella. Teo, it felt powerful. It was the kind of storm that spoke to the senses. No, Marcia, I took this from a park. Those clouds were coming fast and they were not kidding. 'Be safe' . . . The sensible part of me remarked that most entities knew enough to leave while the rain was still incoming (and not yet come). The rest of me had a camera in hand and thought 'Just one more shot' . . .
Umauma said at 11:00 a.m. on Feb 20, 2008: Incredible!!!!
ConnieL said at 11:02 a.m. on Feb 20, 2008: Ah, Seanan, this is wonderful. I love watching clouds, storm clouds especially. Totally understand the 'just one more shot'. :)
Noe said at 11:52 a.m. on Feb 20, 2008: Impressive! those clouds are amazing...
Pkeener said at 12:46 p.m. on Feb 20, 2008: the clouds, the composition, the colors. very nicely done. and good job protecting your camera and lens!
SeánanForbes said at 1:00 p.m. on Feb 20, 2008: It was incredible. The storm line was visible and the air pressure was changing palpably and, yes, there was that need for one more shot and then another one more and then . . . The clouds, Noe, were dancing. It was a war dance, but it was a dance. Pam, I wimped. The SLR went straight into its bag. There was that point-and-shoot available and the storm was pure passion and it was hard to tear myself away. After a year of using the Lowepro sling bag, I finally availed myself of the integral rain cover. Bet I looked fetching, with a hunter orange lump on my back -- but the camera is safe and it is the look of the photos (and not the photographer) that counts.

Decoy said at 11:00 a.m. on Feb 21, 2008: I saw "just" great compostions, colours and light at first. Then I read the refering to dance, and up comes my thoughts of an outstandning Butoh-dance I was priviliged to see. It was a japanese low-key war-dance, describing the same feelings as your photos showes here. Seanan, thanks for a beautiful tabblo, and for making me remember the Butoh-dance! =)
Domieb2 said at 12:01 p.m. on Feb 21, 2008: Gorgeous! I love clouds... Always interesting.
SeánanForbes said at 12:20 p.m. on Feb 21, 2008: Pat and Dominique, 'gorgeous' is a lush word. The clouds have long since dissipated, but I thank you on their behalf. Keeli, those clouds demanded attention. I'm glad to think I caught aspects of their power. Yes, Doreen, something was unmistakably crossing the water. It isn't sensible, but I find heavy weather almost irresistibly attractive. Annelies, 'hot chocolate' is almost always the right answer -- especially when made with dark chocolate and spices. 'Menacing' is a good adjective for those clouds. They came bearing a purpose. Thank you, all.
