~ Just One More Set of Eclipse Photos ~

If only I hadn't been living in suburbia!

I'll bet the view was much better away from the city. The moon was huge and bright when it first rose in the sky.

The heavens had cleared up, but it was bitterly cold.  These photos are no more remarkable than anyone else's, EXCEPT that this celestial event caused me to stay up way past my bedtime!

The show wasn't as spectacular as I had hoped, but worth it none the less.

Beautiful!
We watched it here in Florida. Unfortunately the clouds obscured a lot, but we got to see glimpses.

Nice set. The 8th shot is great. Thick cloud here, so it was a non event. Mike.

Great series - you captured the colors and some of the mystery -- we saw it well here, but my shots were failures ...

Du grand art, fascinante éclipse. Merci Patty.
Jigs said at 9:49 a.m. on Feb 24, 2008:
Oh Patty, how can you say your photos are unremarkable? They are simply magnificent! You must have used a strong telephoto lens to capture the shadows of the lunar terrain - the clarity is amazing! You are so lucky to have the heavens clear up and give you a good view. No such luck in our hemisphere. :-)
Cruising said at 10:27 a.m. on Feb 24, 2008:
Nice job. This is some of the best shots I have seen of the event! YOu really captured it.
Memotions said at 4:37 p.m. on Feb 24, 2008:
Thanks everyone. I am overwhelmed at the response. No special lens...just a basic Canon EF75-300mm (I've got my eye on a better one....on the wish list, of course...)and a 30 year old tripod. Most of the shots didn't turn out very well because the feet on the tripod kept slipping on the ice when I'd depress the shutter button. Glad you found these worthy of your splendid comments.

Beautiful Patty, I couldn't see it over here because it was somewhere between 4 & 5 AM and it was cloudy too, so thanks for sharing these great shots!
