Skyline view from Buckingham Fountain

There are few cities as beautiful as Chicago.

A world class city by any measurement.

Beyond the gloriousness of its public spaces: Millennium Park, Navy Pier, Lincoln Park Zoo, Museum Campus, Grant Park, the lakefront, and the Chicago River; and the wonderful selection of restaurants, musical venues, museums, theatres, festivals and shopping centers... beyond all of that there is the incredible architecture that is second to no other city.

Chicago is the birthplace of the modern skyscraper. The ideas behind the "Chicago School" of architecture have influenced modern architecture around the world for more than 100 years.

The lakefront is considered the jewel of Chicago, but there are many jewels in Chicago's crown. The Chicago River is one which has been overlooked for far too long.

The river has, for the past twenty years, undergone extensive renovations. New promenades, restaurants, parks, public art installations and other attractions now sparkle at the rivers edge.

The incredible diversity in the architectual designs of Chicago skyscrapers can be found nowhere else in the world.

This is a master's canvas. The best architects want their work to stand side by side with the greatest, that can only happen in Chicago. It is an unequaled, singular honor for an architect to have his design join this pantheon.

Awesome. The Crown Fountain picture is magazine-worthy. I love Chicago though I think the Sears Tower is just ugly.

Hmm... maybe I should move to Chicago! I've often thought about it. I used to be a midwesterner... lived in Michigan, or as we like to say, "Meesh-ee-guhn". :) Great tabblo... amazing photos as always.
