Birthday Snowshoe

On Sunday, February 24, Steve, Su, and I gathered for some snowshoeing in Franconia Notch.  The photo above is a panorama made by combining several shots taken from the middle of frozen Lonesome Lake and covers Cannon Mountain and all the major peaks on Franconia Ridge.

Below (L to R) Franconia Ridge and the Kinsmans as seen from Lonesome Lake.

After finishing our hike to Lonesome Lake and back via the basin Cascade Trail -> Cascade Brook Trail -> Lafayette Place Campground we headed to The Flume for some lovely shots of the Pemi and ice climbers in The Flume.

The next day Su and I showshoed George's Gorge trail in Pinkham Notch for some great views of Wildcat and Huntington Ravine (below)

Great outdoor pursuit! The flume looked daunting... looks like a combination of Ouray, Co., and a slot canyon from southern Utah. Awesome!
