Very strange and captivating. The petrified sweaters are like a variant of the Night of the Living Dead. Maybe they're the ones that won't accept that the party's over.
Hhwind said at 6:52 a.m. on Feb 29, 2008:
Cool, laying out all those sweaters wow

there's that word again COHESION!!!!!!!!!! perfect title for these funny cynical ironic and very moving photos. the f*cked up xmas graffiti on the tree is so :( POIGNANT, the party is over, what would jimi do.. well all of them, gawd how do u find these???? a favorite. thx

Hey Allan. yes. is the "great outdoors" a mixed media sculpture/art piece? love root beer float. and i need to come back and comment after i absorb these a few more times. the captions full of irony and wit are just as important as your images in making this random cohesion, cohesive...that's why i treasure your tabblos. your photos always stand alone. of course.

Hi Allan,

I like this collection very much. I think there was a lot of looking in places that don't normally get looked at to come up with these images - like the collage-like Roller Derby Queen and Lucky Boy and bamboo and vw. My favorite shot in this favorite tabblo is Listen.

Thanks Allan.

Best,
Roy.

In this moment, my favourite shot is the collection of sweaters. That's particularly haunting.
Pkeener said at 11:10 a.m. on Feb 29, 2008:
while i find "listen" to be a compelling photo, it isnt my fave. your caption makes it for me. every single shot speakes to me. bamboo. and the christmas tree stuffed in the abandoned shopping cart. that just about sums it up. buy a tree at some lot, who's sole pupose is to make money destroying nature, adorn it, and then, stick it in a shopping cart that you ripped off, and just leave it there for someone else to take care of. lucky boy, indeed.

PS. ALlan, i can see the comments text on my mac, but not on my pc?

I can only read the comments in my inbox, it's complete DARKNESS very twilight zone!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many great "finds"! "Listen" is creepy to me, like a nightmare or a creepy movie. Like Seanan said, it's haunting! The graffiti and bamboo are very nice photos!

Thanks for the kind comments. I enjoy your insights and reactions. I changed text color so the comments are legible now. If you're just checking in, they were dark and didn't show up on some screens. Please note: I didn't create the sweaters. They were part of an outdoor sculpture garden, Webster Woods Art Park, part of the Port Angeles, WA, Fine Arts Center. I'd like to credit the artist, but I don't know who created this haunting piece. Pam, the "great outdoors" was a found scene. The stove pipe that appears to be suspended in mid-air hangs from a wire. It looked, and still looks, surreal to me. Annelies, thanks for your tabblo that generated my comment of "random cohesion" that became the title and glue for this tabblo.

Abking said at 6:19 p.m. on Feb 29, 2008:
Right, Pam. At least some things you can count on in this crazy old world.
