self manipulation!! hmmmm. this really makes me think. the obvious reversal of the left and right images make an interesting self portrat. it also reminds me of the psychology test of the black and white images where you have to say what you see. two women in profile, or a cup? an old woman, or a hat? the white space between your 1/2 portraits draws my eye. but i can't decide wot it is.

I also see a different smile (or is it a smirk?) in each photo. as well as your hair. is this Photo Shop?

Who are you? Who Who?
Pkeener said at 2:01 p.m. on Feb 29, 2008:
I am mostly RIGHT. This is a great tabblo for discussion.
Eduardo.affonso said at 2:29 p.m. on Feb 29, 2008:
We all are the sum of many parts, and much more than this. I feel more comfortable with my left side (my heart beats on the left -also in politics), but it's my right side that makes me keep moving. Or maybe it's just a fake theory, and the real sides are "inside" and "outside", who knows? It was funny to play with these two sides, using Photoshop, anyway.
Pkeener said at 2:46 p.m. on Feb 29, 2008:
up down right left inside outside over under top bottom....it's al a matter of perspective, i guess. and preference!
Leftofcenter said at 2:53 p.m. on Feb 29, 2008:
omg I'll have to "go back to school" to understand this!!! what does Freud say about guys wearing raybans and making tabblos about themselves????????????? ok will be back-
Leftofcenter said at 2:57 p.m. on Feb 29, 2008:
I clearly lean to the left although I'm tryin to change that - go with the flow a bit more...
Leftofcenter said at 2:58 p.m. on Feb 29, 2008:
I think that comes with age and experience, the brain becomes a big melting pot ...
Eduardo.affonso said at 3:51 p.m. on Feb 29, 2008:
Well, I'm in good company, because I'm not the only one who uses personal pics to make tabblos - right, ANNELIES? In fact, our face is the image we know better, so playing with it is an almost irresistible impulse. Some prefer not to expose themselves this way, but I really don't care. My only doubt is: what would Freud say about the raybans??

You theory about the brain becoming a "big melting pot" as we age is intriguing. It does make sense, in fact.
Ebucar said at 3:54 p.m. on Feb 29, 2008:
Fico com os dois.
Leftofcenter said at 3:56 p.m. on Feb 29, 2008:
true, I have used my face in my tabblos on the odd occasion but never gratuitously (I think) there was the RETROSPECTIVE which I did following in yr footsteps, ok the vacation with my sis, and the odd pic with my boys, and... frig OK so I did. sorry. remind me next time. how shallow of me. need to steer back to the LEFT.
Eduardo.affonso said at 4:01 p.m. on Feb 29, 2008:
ANNELIES: If we use our souls every time we make a tabblo (or write a song, a poem, make a drawing, cook a dish), why not use our faces? Uh?

ELIANE: I'll check the availability.
Pkeener said at 4:11 p.m. on Feb 29, 2008:
hmmmm. well, i guess i agree with you both. but as i all ways or always always always say: Never take Yourself Too Seriously. Who was that girl???
Pkeener said at 4:12 p.m. on Feb 29, 2008:
oh, but, who says I use my Soul everytinme I make a tabblow? Where is gretel when you need her?
Eduardo.affonso said at 4:44 p.m. on Feb 29, 2008:
Well, I never took myself too seriously - even before I met the phylosopher who always always always says that.

By the say, I used the "word" soul in a metaphorical way - it can be replaced by "imagination", "mind", "brain", whatever. As any good atheist, I don't believe in "soul" as something that survives us when we (dust) return to dust.

I wonder what Gretel has to say about all that mess...
Pkeener said at 4:52 p.m. on Feb 29, 2008:
OK BWANA...i thot this was private? Oh well, here i am, opinions and all. baring my SOUL
Liliana said at 5:37 p.m. on Feb 29, 2008:
Liliana said at 5:48 p.m. on Feb 29, 2008:
¿Ateo o agnóstico? Ayer justo estuve pensando en ese tema (no sobre vos, perdón en este Tabblo...parece una herejía, vos sos EL tema, me fui a cualquier parte). Es una pregunta retórica, Casimiro, por las dudas, no quiero polemizar ...
Liliana said at 6:08 p.m. on Feb 29, 2008:
Pam, do you ask WHO is Eduardo...??? Do you know who are you , who is each one who you "know"...? I guess he is, here, who or what you want he is or what you "see" in him...
Pkeener said at 10:12 a.m. on Mar 1, 2008:
Hi Liliana! Let me clarify for you: I was quoting the WHO song, "Who are you, who who?" but i was also asking our dear eduardo, which half he felt he was. And i was being silly, all at the same time.

Do we ever really know who we are, in total? I think that is the key to happiness. Knowing who you are and what you want. Few people achieve this in one lifetime. But i am working on it. I know Who i am, but not many people know that person. They know the person they "see" or WANT to see.
Liliana said at 11:12 a.m. on Mar 1, 2008:
Pam, it is good to know a little more about the Who. I really knew they were a band, but anything more than it. Sometimes the quotes the people use in Tabblo are quite local or are only understood for people who are in the same age or something like that. So, it is O.K. and it is not any problem. A
Probably I was not been very clear when I wrote my comment, I wanted to some something like "Maybe what we know from other people is just what we want them to be. We see what we want to. I think we will never even get to know ourselves..."
It was very funny, in my first comment, I wrote that I didn´t want to discuss and I hadn´t nothing to say... It would be better, we would not have this misunderstanding.
About if one can know oneself or not... Really, Pam, each one can have her own ideas. I respect you a lot, I can think in a different way, but I respect your ideas, always.
Pkeener said at 12:59 p.m. on Mar 1, 2008:
ANd I respect your ideas, and you, very much, too, liliana. You have a brain and an opinion, and you are not afrais to express it! Hugs to you!

Liliana said at 2:37 p.m. on Mar 1, 2008:
Well, well, well, Manuel... :)
Pam, thank you!!! Now, I will go to visit Youtube. What a mistery!!!!
Liliana said at 2:46 p.m. on Mar 1, 2008:
Pam, I have seen the video!!! It is good! It was to be back in the life. Now, I remember that one of my cousins from California liked The Who very much!! Thank you.
And, please, don´t feel bad... bau I haven´t one opinion... I have some more!!! ;)
Liliana said at 2:55 p.m. on Mar 1, 2008:
Ja, ja, ja... Well, well, well, Gabriel, no Manuel... ¡¡Otra vez el Parrtuga metió la cola!!
Eduardo.affonso said at 2:59 p.m. on Mar 1, 2008:
I was going to correct you, LILIANA, but I like this new rhyme, anyway. There's a song by Ed Motta called "Manuel" ("Manuel / foi pro céu"), and we can remix them - we let Manuel ask endless questions, and send Gabriel to heaven.
Liliana said at 3:32 p.m. on Mar 1, 2008:
Well, well, well, ´tá bien!! Some minutes from my comment, I started to sing it to myself and I wondered what I was writting!! Vim, olhei o Tabblo e vi... Manuel!!! ¿Qué es esto...? Bueno, igual rima, me respondí... ¡¡Pero corregí, maestro!! ¡¡¡ Te gané por unos minutinhos, ja, ja.
Lifequest22 said at 7:03 p.m. on Mar 1, 2008:
Oh, hell-it's Saturday and these comment require too much thinking. But I love your self indulging tabblo, Eduardo.
Ebucar said at 8:01 p.m. on Mar 1, 2008:
Oh... welll.

Você conhece a música?

Eduardo, esclarecendo: quando eu disse "fico com os dois", eu estava me referindo ao LEFT SIDE (rational) e ao RIGHT SIDE (intuitive). "

, há algum tempo fiz um teste e 'descobri (não que eu não soubesse, mas o resultado só veio reforçar o que eu já sabia, hehe...) que sou "outgoing, friendly and accepting, exuberant lover of life and people; enjoy working with others to make things happen; bring common sense and a realistic approach to my work, and make work fun; flexible and spontaneous, adapts readily to new people and environment." Enfim, uma pessoa adorável!!!

Quem sabe isso daria um bom tabblo?!
Robya said at 10:48 p.m. on Mar 1, 2008:
Eduardo, This is Full of Humor. Thanks.. Robbi
Cowgirl said at 11:37 p.m. on Mar 1, 2008:
Yes Its SATURDAY night at the ... TABBLOS... Thanks for all your Tabblos and i really enjoyed this one .. Thanks Bobbie...
Eduardo.affonso said at 10:01 a.m. on Mar 2, 2008:
Thanks for your Saturday visit, BOBBIE. I really enjoyed making this one, and I am glad you enjoyed the result.

ROBYA: This theory is about left and right side of the brain, not of the face, but I decided to use a visual image to illustrate it. I found it pretty funny, too.

LINDA: "Too much thinking"? I would say "too much laughing"...
Andre. said at 11:25 p.m. on Mar 2, 2008:
You got me in a way with this one, Eddie. I’d never guess you look like this....Either side...:)
Eduardo.affonso said at 6:31 a.m. on Mar 3, 2008:
Well, Andre, I looked like this some years ago... I used this one because of its asymmetry (which made the concept more clear).
Leftofcenter said at 7:17 a.m. on Mar 3, 2008:
SURE, only to prove your left/right brain concept, suuuure... ;)
Eduardo.affonso said at 8:04 a.m. on Mar 3, 2008:
Of course! Is there any other possible (hidden) reason??
Leftofcenter said at 8:12 a.m. on Mar 3, 2008:

"se voce disser que eu desafino amor....." I always sing to get out of sticky situations... :)

Foi mal aí o português, hein? Qual te pertence (no singular)...
EMA said at 7:43 p.m. on Mar 4, 2008:
Isto é muito interessante Eduardo! Eu fiz o mesmo com uma foto minha já há mais de um ano. Há uma coisa importante nestas fotos que falta na sua que é mostrar os olhos. A expressão dos olhos é muito diferente de um e do outro lado. O olhar do lado intuitivo é muito mais doce que o do lado racional. :)
Ebucar said at 9:35 p.m. on Mar 5, 2008:
Liliana, eu acho que estes óculos não têm nada de 'rayban'...
Liliana said at 5:29 p.m. on Mar 6, 2008:
Eliane, nao sei nada de moda. É engracado, tenho uns óculos Gucci só porque gostei deles, quando um amigo muuuuuuito fan das "brands" os viu, quase nem podia crer que eu nao dera importancia no "nome"...
