Doors: Special Care

In 2007 and 2008 I painted murals at two assisted-living facilities in Houston, Texas. At each location I painted two sets of double doors to disguise and decorate the entrances to the areas for residents with memory loss and dementia. It was a pleasure to meet and befriend the people who live and work at these buildings, and I hope my paintings help brighten their days.

First two murals:

Cy-Fair at Summerville Assisted Living, Cypress, Texas

Second two murals:

Sugar Land Oaks Assisted Living, Sugar Land, Texas

Wonderful muruals. I'm fascinated by the concept of painting these doors. Haven't heard about that at any ALFs in Tampa. What is the purpose? I'd like to share this idea. Can you tell me more.

What a wonderful concept - and very well done. This would work well in so many settings.
