Round Lake Library Presents...

The debut of our library's newest program, "Friday Night Out", brought a two-hour salsa class to our patrons on Febuary 29th.  It was not only a huge hit, but it was wildly fun!

Ivette Roque enthusiastically guided the eager attendees through various salsa steps, and everyone walked away exhausted, but with a little more spunk in their gait.

Ivette teaches Latin dance at the Rhythm Academy in Gurnee, Illinois.

This program seemed to increase the overall affection in the room, as much hugging, kissing and tenderness were on display.  Smiles and laughter were also in abundance.

We also learned that many unexpected songs have been turned into salsa music, including "The Way You Look Tonight" and "Hotel California"

In addition to the usual salsa steps, Ivette also taught the merengue and the bachetta.

I don't know what this dance move was called, but I think she was the only one who could perform it with ease.

At the end of the night, people left with smiles on their faces and asked how soon the next program would be.  Another complete success for Candice and the Round Lake Library.
