The juxtapositions of light and dark were fortuitous (no skill, all luck; I didn't clearly see them until I saw the image on a large screen). It was a beautiful day, generous in shade and light.

Beautiful. Looks like a Postcard or the cover of a book on Serenity. By the way,in my humble opinion a great photo requires skill and luck.

Noted and accepted, James. Teo, it was waiting for me, reeds bent and still, the light reflecting from the water. All I had to do was find a way to balance on the riser. The shot was there. Deb, Annelies, I agree; those blues work wonders. Kevin, this was a day that made me think the snow-days might come to an end. In both of my cities, the winter has been merciful (save to the ill, the poor and the homeless, to whom no season is kind), but it was joy to scent an imminence of springtime. Steve, thank you. (I'm factoring in your fondness for that park.) Thanks, all.
