Fun at Five Points

Our St. Patrick's day celebration in Columbia SC is annually held in a trendy part of town called Five Points.  It got off to a good start on Saturday morning and then got rained out this afternoon due to a bad storm that came through town.

Mention Five Points to a native Columbian, and you'll stir up images of trendy stores, trendy restaurants, and the focal point for USC's night life.

As for the visitor - well, let me explain - USC students come to Five Points to party and mingle. The Columbia resident and working stiffs go there to shop the cool little specialty shops and eat at the trendy bistros and cafes. For lunch downtown Columbia sends it's white collar Joe's into Five Points - Harpers, The Gourmet Shop, Yesterdays, Grouchos, Andys, Mr. Friendlys all pack up right at lunch time. (And yes ALL are excellent)

Pam, I took pictures of the signs for the shops and restaurants around Five Points to give a flavor of what it was like. That was just one of the shops.
