The real world. There's something about that chainlink that makes this.......it's come to me......it's what people would like to see done with the homeless--fence them in.

it's sad when your worldly possessions can fit into one or two shopping carts and your home is made out of cardboard
Pkeener said at 2:04 p.m. on Mar 18, 2008:
Thank you Leftie. I am not that good. just lucky.
Linda, life can throw us on either side of that fence with little or no warning. it was actually a nice day, and when their buddy saw me (he was on the sidewalk, below, all set up) he waved. i titled it in the queue, because it struck me that they were planning their strategies for the day and the carts were all queued up to assume their spots on the remaing corners. i also got the feeling they were all in it as a team. working each their corners and then maybe pooloing tips at the end of the day.

The situation is sad as people said, but is a grea capture anyway Pam, there is a homeless here in my city that always is walking with his shopping car and a lot of dogs walking with him, like 20 dogs or more, I try to take a photo of him but I still can't hehe.

I'm speachless. Very touching photo.

What you're good at Pam, is spotting the photo and through it, sharing the meaning and understanding of what you see. It's interesting to think that they are working as a team; I suppose every culture has it's support structure; It's a good thought to think that not everyone out there is all alone, that someone has their back.

you have a way of seeing things that others often miss. nice one Pam!
Shenresi said at 5:33 a.m. on Mar 21, 2008:
yes, Pam, I agree with Siagian. It`s very real and honest this photo. We often want to look at those people and their problems , with a wall between it can`t touch us - great tabblo !!!

nice capture.
Eduardo.affonso said at 8:55 a.m. on Apr 1, 2008:
It's hard to distinguish the men from their "shopping" cars - and this despersonalization is even more effective because of this fence (that made me think of a prison). As Angela pointed, there's always a wall between such misery and us. Your photos on this subject are sort of a window - we still can't touch this "dark side of paradise", or even dare to change it, but looking at it from a different perspective is a good begining.
