Reviving the Bird

Bored as hell, I found this bird stranded on my hard drive. Lets make it look “better”:

1. Unedited, just resized, and booooooring family--album--style image of a poor zoo creature. I’ll add some contrast to it >>>

2. It is “better” with contrast added, good enough for a passport, but what about colors? I like colorful things.

Lets "fix" this >>>

3.Ooops... Looking a bit “unprofessional” ([I think], don’t tell anybody*), but I’m not a pro (*-2) and “I” excuse “Moi” for this.  And I like "La couleur" sooo much better here. This would work for a greeting card...I guess... >>>

4.Well , since there is something wrong already, I’ll just make it look more “wrong”. I love wrong things in life. I’ll add some blur to it. This is not “just” a blur, but THE radial  one. [Hopefully], this would be rejected by a Passport agency and Hallmark...

>>>

Here we go. The bird is ready for action. Fly, babe, fly..!

Linda, I “didn’t get” what you meant with colors until I’ve opened this in Explorer. It sure looks different in Firefox. I don’t know how to fix this yet.
Lifequest22 said at 12:00 p.m. on Mar 26, 2008:
with all my typos, i'm surprised u understood any of it.

Ira said at 12:02 p.m. on Mar 26, 2008:
The amusing changes occur to this bird. Contrast and colours. It would be simply interesting if same occured to her in life. Beautiful photos.
Lifequest22 said at 12:02 p.m. on Mar 26, 2008:
I noticed u added this to tabbo critique--does anyone bother to actually give any critiques anymore?
Andre. said at 12:07 p.m. on Mar 26, 2008:

Andre, this is neat. Like your 'wrong' changes. :)) Playing in Photoshop is so much fun!

If you've got an interesting image but you think it's somehow missing something it's definitely worth the effort to try to bring out its interesting qualities. The worst that can happen is that it doesn't quite work out as well as hoped. In the mean time you've become a better image crafter.
Mania said at 12:48 p.m. on Mar 26, 2008:
this is wonderful. Love the colours.
Rheap said at 2:02 p.m. on Mar 26, 2008:
Your just like me, I have to alter every single image, even if it looks great.. to me, its not finished until I have changed it!!

Andre. said at 9:36 p.m. on Mar 26, 2008:
Well, I’m not suggesting Photoshop is “bad”. It’s just my personal opinion, even-given the fact that there is not much left to damage...It’s just too bulky and complex for my needs.
Lifequest22 said at 10:14 p.m. on Mar 26, 2008:
PAM--love your honesty. Of course, with out PS, we wouldn't have GRETEL's masterpieces.

Picasa is a nice little free Google program that's great for photo organizing and quick fixes.... and Photoshop Elements is another good program--a billion dollars less than it's BIG sister. Elements is also good for organizing. It has many of big sis's functions. One cool feature is it's facial recognition-If you download the trial version at Adobe and want to buy it, you get it for less than the retail price. I was excited when i actually got the program, but rarely use it. I like Picasa the best. THE END,
Cowgirl said at 11:38 p.m. on Mar 26, 2008:
I do have PICASA I like it also just wanted a little more stuff to play around with more frames , and stuff jumping out of the pic.. that kind of stuff !!! i loaded photofilre played around a liitle

Pkeener said at 1:35 a.m. on Mar 27, 2008:
well, not to be a snob, but i have a mac, and i really like the aperture software they have developed. Also, Linda, I like the PS Elements, and Adobe has a new one called Lighthouse or somethig like that. There is a group on tabblow somewhere for that one.

I used PS for graphic design, and talk about BRAIN DAMAGE!! ANdre is right! Pass the vodka, or Tequila, or something, Please!!!!
Lifequest22 said at 3:11 a.m. on Mar 27, 2008:
