Bogs with the New Camera

A log in the bog

Today I received my new camera in the mail: a Nikon D80.  I've been wanting this camera for a long time, and I finally took the plunge this week.  I was able to use my old Nikkor lenses from my film camera days, and though I remembered to clean the lenses, I forgot to clean the filters, so my first pictures with my new camera were often blurry.  However, tomorrow is another day, and I shall take full advantage of my new camera and newly cleaned lenses and filters.

Old cattails in water as blue as my hair!

Sunlight that looks like moonlight, in the wetlands

Shadows and cattails

Animals were pairing up and nesting -- it is spring after all

Three deer converged in a yellow bog...

How often does one run into a deer laying down in the woods, gnawing on some plantlife?

Her, watching me, watching her, watching me....

Wonderful set. You're taking some really great shots with your new camera. Where is this?

Thanks, everyone!

These shots were taken at four different forest preserves in Northern Illinois, two in McHenry County and two in Lake County. We're experiencing some flooding, so much of the area is soggy if not underwater, but the animals don't seem to mind. Thanks again.

Thanks! I've been a fan of yours for a while. I now shoot with the D80, and my lenses are 28-80 mm and 78-300 mm, and a variety of filters.
