Spring Break in San Diego 2008

Spring break 2008 was spent in sunny San Diego, California.  We went back to a beach house we had stayed in three years ago and had a fabulous time!

The weather was beautiful and didn't turn cold until the last few days of the trip (by cold I mean 60 degrees - here in CO it was a balmy 26 degrees this morning!).

Our main activity was sitting by the beach and letting the waves hit our legs.  The kids were so happy and exhausted each night.  As usual, Daniel is my water baby and would have happily joined the surfers if only we would let him.

We drove up to Huntington Beach to visit our dear friends the LeTourneaus.  It was such fun to see them and hang out at their beautiful house!

Nathan "discovered" sunglasses on this trip and really got into wearing them.  He fell asleep once or twice with them on - a handy skill for college, son!  Even Jeff relaxed on this trip :)

Our big outing was Legoland, just north of San Diego.  The kids had a blast even though the lines were long.  Claire got her face painted as a "Snow Queen" and she was thrilled with it.  Kinda' sad to wash it off at night.

Other activities:  visiting Coronado Island and checking out the Hotel del Coronado (very beautiful and the beach was so nice!), biking along the board walk (Claire was a rock star and had such fun - much easier to do than a hilly ride in Vail!), eating lunch at Wave House - a beach restaurant that has an artificial wave machine.  We were all fascinated with the cool tricks the surfers could do.  Jeff thought he might try but he forgot his wetsuit at home. :)

All in all, a wonderful trip!
