The Coast Guard Cutter Munro is a 378 foot High Endurance Cutter. It was named in honor of WW2 Hero Douglas Munro.

Coast Guardsman Douglas Munro was Posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for sacrificing his life to save stranded Marines at the Battle of Guadalcanal.

The Coast Guard Cutter Acushnet is the Queen of the fleet. The oldest ship in the Coast Guard .

Ok, maybe I'm a little biased...but you did put my ship in there. WMEC 906 GO SENECA! Great photos and a great story told though photos. The Coast Guard doesn't get enough recognition in my opinion. Most people think they're not involved in direct conflict, which couldn't be farther from the truth as they are attached to the Navy during wartime and serve on the front lines. Thanks for a great Tabblo.
