Sunday, May 5, President Bill Clinton came to North Carolina. One of his first stops was my small town of Morganton - in western North Carolina. About 3500 people waited several hours for the former president to make an appearance.
President Clinton was making some campaign stops on behalf of his wife, Senator Hillary Clinton. The North Carolina Democratic Primary will be held Tuesday, along with the Indiana Primary. These two primaries could finally decide who the Democratic Nominee for President will be - Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. |

After President Clinton spoke to the crowd, he took time to shake hands. This was the most exciting part of all. I worked my way up to the poarch ~ President Clinton was at the far end of the poarch, leaning way out , to shake hands.
Finally, he walked over to OUR END of the poarch. I stuck my hand up and I actually shook a President's hand! ! What an exciting and memorable day. |
