Bisita Iglesia

It has been a long held tradition here in the Philippines that many devout Catholics practice a special kind of a novena tour called 'Bisita Iglesia'--which literally means 'visiting the church.' Ideally, during Holy Thursday, one should go to nine churches and pray or commemorate the twelve stations of the cross. Two months ago, my friend Sealdi and I travelled all over Metro Manila to nine different churches from 3:30 PM to around 9 PM. It was the first time that I have completed 9 churches for a Bisita Iglesia--it was interesting to see that there are many people who still ardently practice this religious tradition.

Enjoyed the whole set, James, and think that the last shot is priceless. I appreciate the story behind the shots, it adds depth, to know what is happening.

Different religions. Different traditions. The God lives in soul of each man. It is love. Conscience. Honour. Hope. The people much distinguishes. And much connects. Interesting photos.
