Hey Stan! thank you for commenting. I think the first shot is the best one, and the reason I made this tabblo. Just an excuse to post that gorgeous face!

Love these street shots, Pam. My fave is #14: The old guy in blue & yellow. Was he returning your peace sign?

Leftofcenter said at 6:54 a.m. on May 7, 2008:
Mary Poppins is back! :) love the "sea" of umbrellas (favorite: the geisha one), it's strange to see these huge French signs in the States (I know I know this is Louisiana) you picked some real colourful characters, I see the PEACE sign!!!

Pepole so much more different from ur others. I loke this one a little more the pepole has a lot of caracter. The guy with the beads funny, i would ask the question what he did for it? I even like the contrast of the person walking behinde him. Very cool pix.

thank you! It is easy to take interesting photos of interesting and colorful people and places. Hey Mike, that guy was a buskar. He was like a mannequin, changing positions slowly. I caught his eyrs and flashed him the peace sign and he changed for me. very fun. Rhonda, she is part of a dance group, which i will post soon. amazing costumes and performance. The umbrellas were an added bonus. It started to rain, and instead of ducking for cover, i wrapped my camera and shot all the umbrellas i could!
Pkeener said at 9:15 a.m. on May 7, 2008:
Leftie, FRENCH was everywhere. On the signs and also in the air. Most of the preformers were either from Africa or Quebec. The Festival is a French based arts thing that is held in different cities.

This is a type of program that I love - it's full of life! As we say in Brazil, here you'll find people of all "tribes". Liked the umbrellas very much.

Pam, you must have had such fun taking these shots and it shows in your tabblo. I LOVE it, especially the umbrellas, the faces, the boots, the expressions, not to mention the brilliant colours...... the whole event.
Pkeener said at 11:24 a.m. on May 7, 2008:
Noreen, I do have fun taking these. Although, I must say, I was very dismayed to find my IS button was switched off (image stabilization) so, giving the low light and the action combined, a lot of them are a touch soft, but the colros and human interest hopefully make up for it. Maybe a separture from perfectionism is a good thing once in a while.
Tishfish said at 11:39 a.m. on May 7, 2008:

You always shoot the funkiest people! ... of course I love the umbrellas, but my faves are the: cowboy boots loafers and flip flops, the beautiful smile of the woman in orange and proud funky dude with all the necklaces and flashing the peace sign!
Pkeener said at 9:28 a.m. on May 8, 2008:
Hey Jigs, it was actually very pleasant, with the clouds and intermittent rain. Because it can get HOT there, for sure. DAr, thank you. those are MArdi Gras beads and his outfit are the traditional NO mardi gras colors. He was actually very good. , Allan, I was looking at the jacket, and then she strolled into the scene. LUCKY for me.
