During my 3rd year in high school, I had an elective class about photography. Our teacher for this class was Sir Jo Avila, a professional photographer here in the Philippines. For the first few meetings, he had been teaching us about the basics in photography. After about 2-3 meetings, he gave us our first photography assignment. The assignment was to take a picture of a Coke bottle and make it into something. We could not take a picture of it being a vase, toy, or anything that was commonly shot. He promised the class that he would give P200 worth of Digi-print gift certificate to whoever had the best. Eager to get the gift certificate, I did my best and thought the entire week on what I would do with my Coke bottle. The day before submission, I was starting to give up when, suddenly, I thought of trying to make the bottle to become the center of a clock. After a few shots here was what I got. I submitted this and, because of this shot, I was able to earn myself P200 worth of gift certificate.
Up until now, I still love this photo. It is still one of my favorite photographs that I have ever took. |
