Yesterday I noticed that the robin was not sitting directly on the nest. I heard a "hoot" from the nearby spruce and realized that Mr. Robin was guarding the nest and Mama had a juicy grub in her beak! Could it be that the eggs had hatched?
Mama watches closely after taking the grub to the nest as I scamper up the ladder to get a quick peek at what has happened.
How many chicks would there be?
Two tiny new birds! One egg has disappeared and still one remains unhatched.
Mama returns to the nest, but she remains ever vigilant.
