Flowers for Mom

I gave you dandelions and daisies when I was a child.  I was suppose to be playing, but the truth is I wanted your approval more than anything else, and the flowers I brought home lit up your face in a smile that filled me to the brim. 

To this day I can't look at a wild flower, or any flower for that matter without the memory of your love and the kindness with which you received my aphid infested gifts.

From you I learned the lesson 'it's the thought that counts', and if you put your heart into your giving, the recipient will see it as the most precious of gifts, more precious than any other riches on this earth.

You said once of me, If only half of the world had a heart like mine, it would truly be a wonderful place to live, but you are the one responsible for what's in my heart, and if it weren't for you, I might not have the ability to see the gifts I'm surrounded with each and every day.

 

Happy Mother's Day Mom; may you always know that the gifts you've given me are more precious than any other riches on this earth.

Thank you my darling daughter. I do remember those wild flowers that I received for Mothers day and they were very precious to me, I didn't want to throw them out even when they were black with age. Thank you love.

Thank you everyone ... You're welcome Mom. Happy Mothers Day! . .... I'm almost fifty, and I think i still get more from giving you your Mother's day greeting than you do. ... after the wildflowers came potted Mum plants, and when those died, they sat on the bottom shelf by the fridge, waiting, I think, to see if they would bloom again, I never knew why exactly, but I never seen them being tossed out.
