A Visit to a Temple

Isa lamang ang aking panalangin sa Panginoon;

ito'ng aking hangarin:

Na manatili sa tahanan ng Panginoon sa talang buhay ko;

Nang lagi kong masdan ang kariktan ng Diyos

At buong buhos-isipin ang Kanyang bahay-dalanginan.

One thing I ask of the LORD; this I seek:

To dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,

That I may gaze on the loveliness of the LORD

and contemplate his temple. (Psalm 27:4)

Jigs, this very nicely done. the juxtaosition of east and west philosophy along with the wonderful colors. Your composition and the framing are so compelling. I also really like the simple plaid shirt. again a western style of clothing in a eastern setting. i can only imagine visitning this place in my dreams or books.

Thank you, All :-) ERIC/PAM — At first I wasn't sure how people would react to that fusion of Christian and Buddhist references, the juxtaposition of East and West spirituality. I'm glad that that you guys have welcomed this "syncretism" with openness and maturity. TEO - This temple is deep inside one of the cities of Metro Manila. The man with what I call the "Buddha hands" is the chosen caretaker of the temple (sort of like the parish priest) and he is a great feng shui master. I was fascinated with his beautiful hands.

Strange contrast of the pictures to the text you used. Haha! Oh well.. religions are somewhat parallel anyway. Like how my father put it, "Religions are like buses: there are different types and sizes, but ultimately they all have the same destination."
