And The Night Was Engulfed......

Sitting alone by the window pane

I had nobody except my shadow for company

When it was late, the light was off

That was when my shadow deserted me

All that was left was a sense of emptiness

And the night was engulfed with loneliness..............

What a depressing poem.. Sigh..
Chaitiamma said at 12:12 p.m. on May 19, 2008:
Li Qing Zhao is a very talented poet during the Sung Dynasty. She and her husband were both very famous icons during that time. After the demised of her husband, most of her poems are of sorrow and grief, but very romantic in a certain aspect.

My only regret is my insufficiency in English to do a better translating job. Sigh................
