Volcanoes National Park

On the positive side: We got to see the first new eruption at Kilauea Caldera in 20-odd years. On the negative side, the sulfur dioxide spewed by that mile-high plume limited exploration. We didn't get to see any lava flows -- nasty gases shut down viewing sites where lava was pouring into the sea.

Calvin was thrilled to finally see a volcano, and loved walking through a giant lava tube.
