The dam between the Upper and Lower Mystic lakes keeps herring from making their run up to their spawning grounds. Today was the second day of the "assist" of getting the alewives to the upper lake. |

The fish are netted at the bottom of the dam and put in buckets. The buckets are then hauled up to the top of the dam. |

The fish are counted and then sent down the "fish luge" into the upper mystic. |
