Deterioration

“I am against nature. I don't dig nature at all. I think nature is very unnatural. I think the truly natural things are dreams, which nature can't touch with decay.”

hmmm. that's a new way to look at things, thanks for sharing bob dylan. love the #3 pic, with rust looking like trickles or old blood. and the second to the last, great use of light! =)

Bit of a downer, which is fine by me. Makes a change from the bombardment of 'pretty' pics. Variety is the spice..........

Nice shots it is true, part of the cycle of life

Thanks, Marius.. The rust/bloodlike formation is also a personal fave :)

You're right, Mike.. Sometimes, unhappy pictures spice up the tabblo viewing experience..

Thank you, too, Teo!

Very good photos, as is the usual from you... but so sad, the garbage in the water, the little kids, the skinny cat... Another great tabblo!!

So clever, James! I like all pix!

That cat is just so wrong. wow. nice set and with the Dylan...powerful.
Pkeener said at 5:55 p.m. on Jun 3, 2008:
...the shot of the kids really grabbed me. the primary colors are so ironically happy in contrast to the kids expressions and body language.

sad but beautiful. nice work Sir!

Pam, I thought it would be a give-away to put all of these in b/w to show the loneliness aspect.. yet I thought I wanted to show the contrast of the colors of life and the ugliness of decay; hence, I made the colors more vivid.

Thank you Pam, Woody, and Den :)

Unfortunately, all things, including humans, are on a path to deterioration. Great set and a very nice change of pace.

Fantastic photos .. great work ... the very thin cat, is it sick???
Sirnicolay said at 1:17 a.m. on Jun 4, 2008:
Thank you, Jeanine.. It's a stray cat--it's meant to reinforce the theme of the tabblo. ;)

The cat image and the image of the children pull at me the most. This is a great collection. Do those last two trees form the shape of a heart, signifying hope? :)
Sirnicolay said at 8:45 p.m. on Jun 8, 2008:
Wow, that's an interesting interpretation, Marci! :) I didn't originally meant it that way since these trees are also undergoing the process of "deterioration." But your interpretation gave depth to the tabblo. Thank you! :)

I repeat once again: Excellent!
