Pkeener said at 10:47 a.m. on Jun 4, 2008: I can't imagine living in a place with such color. this tabblo is a remarkable piece of work. Love the title treatment. Elaiane is a very lucky girl to have this made for her. I like the little crosses everywhere.
Eduardo.affonso said at 10:56 a.m. on Jun 4, 2008: PAM: The little crosses by the home entrance are an old Brazilian tradition, still alive only in small villages like Tiradentes (I remember helping my grandma to decorate the cross, that must renewed once an year). I had promised Eliane to create a poster for her with baroque doors (so I hope she will have this one printed and hung somewhere in her new home).
Rita.
21-gramm said at 11:07 a.m. on Jun 4, 2008: Colorful, Eduardo! Each door leads to a great life for it! Very attractive process to imagine residents of each house!
Eduardo.affonso said at 11:10 a.m. on Jun 4, 2008: That's right, DEN. I wonder which one would you choose for your house...
Debdog said at 11:29 a.m. on Jun 4, 2008: hmmm i wonder what is behind...so beautiful the colors textures and each unique in it's own way....
Eduardo.affonso said at 11:35 a.m. on Jun 4, 2008: DEBBIE: Most of these houses are empty, used during weekends and vacations only. Some of them became inns, restaurants, shops. I visited Tiradentes very early in the morning, so everything was still closed, silent. And, as you pointed, each of these doors is unique.
Shenresi said at 11:40 a.m. on Jun 4, 2008: So wonderful , Eduardo and the shots are very precise, all have the same size and than the fabulous colours- grat stuff !!!
Swedfinn said at 11:40 a.m. on Jun 4, 2008: Doors are interesting...so many people have passed through them in many generations. It is colorful, rich in details and leaves lot of space for viewers fantacies. Certainly an excellent poster, too.
Leftofcenter said at 11:41 a.m. on Jun 4, 2008: man, when you're good you're brilliant!! i have this door/window fetish, so this is feast to my eyes. my doors would be #10 and #12.
Curriehouse said at 11:46 a.m. on Jun 4, 2008: What a feast for the artistic eye! I love these doors. They make modern doors seems so boring.
Hollyridger said at 12:05 p.m. on Jun 4, 2008: Beautiful set of doors, so well put together. Lots of interesting detail and, of course, the colours are remarkable.
JuDeck said at 12:09 p.m. on Jun 4, 2008: #24 would be the door of my choice...love this Eduardo.
Pkeener said at 12:12 p.m. on Jun 4, 2008: It will be a cool poster!!
Ebucar said at 12:17 p.m. on Jun 4, 2008: Oh, my!!! This is so wonderful. I LOVED it...I agree with Leftie, Edu: "when you're good you're brilliant" . And you always are. THANKS so much. I'm lucky, am I not?
Eu nunca visitei Tiradentes.
Adoro estas cores vibrantes, fortes e tão marcantes.
Depois desse tabblo eu me convenci de que não vou mesmo me aventurar em nada parecido. OBRIGADA, Edu! Valeu mesmo.
Eduardo.affonso said at 12:20 p.m. on Jun 4, 2008: Thanks for your kind comments, ANGELA, JORMA, ANNELIES, BETH, NOREEN & JUDE. Old buildings, with their artistic & colorful doors are always a feast for my eyes, too.
BETH: Modern doors are just an entrance; old one used to be much more than this - they were an invitation, showed a lot about the owner's personality.
ANNELIES, We are neighbors, because my door would be #11...
JUDE: I wouldn't imagine you to be so "ascetic".
JORMA: Doors and windows always awake the "voyeur" I have inside - and light up my imagination.
Eduardo.affonso said at 12:24 p.m. on Jun 4, 2008: ELIANE: Té que enfim cê apareceu, né?
Lifequest22 said at 12:36 p.m. on Jun 4, 2008: What a gorgeous poster this will make, Eduardo. Are these doors in proximity to one another. Do they all open into an interior room or do some open into open courtyards?
Eduardo.affonso said at 1:09 p.m. on Jun 4, 2008: LINDA: In old baroque Brazilian towns (like Tiradentes) the houses were built side by side, aligned with the sidewalk, with no space left for front nor side gardens. So these doors are very close to one another (as you'll see in one of my next tabblos). The front door usually opens to a corridor or to the "guest room" (sort of a living, not used by the family and meant for visitors). There are no courtyards, like in baroque Spanish architecture.
Lifequest22 said at 1:21 p.m. on Jun 4, 2008: Thanks, eduardo. I was hoping you would have more perspectives on the village. Looking forward to that tab.
Magedimages said at 1:27 p.m. on Jun 4, 2008: Un vrai catalogue, passionnant et esthétique. Merci.
Eduardo.affonso said at 1:30 p.m. on Jun 4, 2008: LINDA: I visited Tiradentes last Friday, and it was the first day of a new law that doesn't allow cars to park in the historical center - so I found empty streets, and nothing blocking the view of the façades. It's not a ghost city - it hosts a famous Film Festival every January and a Cultural & Gastronomic Festival every July. Besides all, it's full of history, like an open air museum.
DocEna said at 1:35 p.m. on Jun 4, 2008: GREAT SET EDU. GREAT CHOICE OF COLORS AND LAYOUT. MARVELOUS CITY.
CathyStacy said at 2:13 p.m. on Jun 4, 2008: Very nice. I just love doors.
Eduardo.affonso said at 2:14 p.m. on Jun 4, 2008: Thanks, ENALDO & CATHY! Doors have always fascinated me, and the old ones are my favorites.
AliDar said at 2:29 p.m. on Jun 4, 2008: Simply a pleasure to view. And each door says a little something about the owners and what might be inside. Great tabblo Eduardo, and very nicely displayed!
Candlepower said at 2:47 p.m. on Jun 4, 2008: Love the bright colors, so different yet so alike too.
EMA said at 2:56 p.m. on Jun 4, 2008: Beautiful composition. It will be great as a poster.
Jillcdunn said at 12:07 a.m. on Jun 5, 2008: This is fantastic! Your work is top notch as always. I'm sure this will make a very striking poster.

Sirnicolay said at 10:27 a.m. on Jun 5, 2008: This made me google what 'Tiradentes' is.. I found out he's a Brazilian hero and an icon.. I cringed at the picture of Tiradente's "quartered" body... But he's a great inspiration to the Brazilians.. I love the fantastic colors of the doors here. What a treat to the eyes. Thanks for sharing these :)
Welshchick said at 3:56 p.m. on Jun 5, 2008: I'll have to research this too Eduardo~ facinating - I adore painted doors~ I'll take whatever is behind door #16 please (my fave color :^)
Eduardo.affonso said at 6:11 p.m. on Jun 5, 2008: ALI, PAT, EDITE, RHONDA, JILL, ANDRE, PHOTOPOP, CELIA, LAURA, CHARLES, KEELI, JAMES & RHONDA: Thanks you very, very much for your kind comments. I'm flattered.
Yes, JAMES, Tiradentes is the Brazilian national hero. He leaded a conspiration against Portugal, but didn't succeed. He was hanged and the day of his death is now a national holiday. The village where he was born was, many years later, named after him.
Liliana said at 6:56 p.m. on Jun 5, 2008: Snif, ¿a mí no me respondés...? Yo también te felicité... :(
21-gramm said at 8:35 p.m. on Jun 5, 2008: I choose the doors of the fourth series of top, first or third from left, yes, third, with white bars and glass! Can I taik it, Eduardo?
Eduardo.affonso said at 8:43 p.m. on Jun 5, 2008: Calma, LILIANA, que a sua resposta sempre fica por último... rs.
Eduardo.affonso said at 8:44 p.m. on Jun 5, 2008: Great choices, DEN. You have good taste for doors! Sure you can take them - virtually, if you don't mind.
Jigs said at 10:25 p.m. on Jun 5, 2008: This is a masterpiece, EDUARDO!!! I love how the doors seem all alike yet so distinctly, delightfully different from each other. I am certain Eliane would be thrilled by your brilliantly executed photographic artwork dedicated specially for her — I know I would! As always, ou put so much heart and creativity in your tabblos! Bravo, meu amico!

Abking said at 11:44 p.m. on Jun 6, 2008: These doors are almost too beautiful to open. Your layout is terrific: my eye jumps between the similarities and differences in each of the doors.
