this is really surreal. the statues seem so real, human, i mean. and the way you cropped and put this together is really something

PAM: This place is unique. I'll take you there, if you happen to visit Brazil someday.

DAVID, KARLA, CELIA: Thanks for visiting with me (virtually...) this wonderful place I just discoverd last week.

Oh I'd love to go there one day; I'd be like a kid in a candy store; I love folk carvings and have a small collection of my own, mostly birds, so that white bird would fit right in. These are fantastic Eduardo, the human figures are amazing; I especially like the limber ones with the animal heads, I also like the woman with the bird on her shoulder - they seem to be having a bit of communication with their eyes. You've done an excellent job with your framing and cropping, - showing the sculptures in their surroundings, and the details of them, and you've added a bit of whimsy, yourself - love the portrait of Daisy in the garden and the chicken on the mailbox! Great stuff! :)

btw, one of your tabblos seem to have gone missing before I got a chance to see it. :(

What an interesting place. Your photos depict the art so well.
Eduardo.affonso said at 2:47 p.m. on Jun 6, 2008:
I felt just like you said you would, DAR: a kid in a candy store. I didn't know where to look at, and I could stay there for hours, admiring the sculptures, carvings, paintings, and their relation with their surroundings. I made another tabblo about these hadcrafts (please check "figure & background") and some more are coming soon.

A missing tab?? Which one? where? how? when? why??

LILIANA: Possivelmente algumas dessas peças fariam sucesso no "meu" bairro porteño. De volta, importo tênis Puma e CDs do Pimpinella!
AliDar said at 2:55 p.m. on Jun 6, 2008:
Figure & background was the one that was missing. When I clicked on the invite I got that access denied message. :( But it appears to be back now; I can see it's link on the top of this page. :)

A place I would like to visit, too. Thanks for sharing!
Leftofcenter said at 4:42 p.m. on Jun 6, 2008:
some original colorful sculptures you're showing us here, they remind me of my Javanese puppets. And the surroundings (orange daisies?) must have made the artistic promenade even more enjoyable...
Liliana said at 6:32 p.m. on Jun 6, 2008:

Wow, it's just my kind of place! Like one fantastic fun playground! I am just so enthralled by the folksy art all around — and there is a certain kind of whimsical humor in the figures and craftswork that I find simply delightful!
