Tishfish said at 1:29 p.m. on Jun 6, 2008: Great shots ! ! ! I hope the let the comorons eat a fish or two.
YorkJodi said at 1:30 p.m. on Jun 6, 2008: Really cool photos!!! We have cormorants, they are similar, uglier, all black. They make no noise while in flight but sound like pigs or donkeys when nesting. Weird...
Hhwind said at 1:33 p.m. on Jun 6, 2008: Thank you Angela, David and Doreen. It is quite cruel from our perspective because they let the bird go hungry a bit so that the comorons are more incline to fish and once they have caught quite alot they will be allowed to eat. They eat only live fish.
Hhwind said at 1:47 p.m. on Jun 6, 2008: Thanks Jodi, the comorons here can't fly anymore they are totaly domesticated
Ira said at 1:53 p.m. on Jun 6, 2008: Perfect photos! Very beautiful places! Surprising birds!

Wildthing said at 3:15 p.m. on Jun 6, 2008: Great pics of a what I believe is a very ancient way of fishing, that does seem cruel. Having said that, the cormorants fare better than the fish. It's all relative. We have a funny way of deciding which life forms are precious, and which are fair game!!!
PaulBarfoot said at 3:43 p.m. on Jun 6, 2008: Incredible scenery in that first shot and a great story in pictures. I like the last image very very much!
ConnieL said at 3:45 p.m. on Jun 6, 2008: Very nice photos! The good thing is the cormorants do get to...just have to work harder than if in the wild.
