[grand nina]

Two years without my grandmother ... Grand Nina ...

She was born in the longest winter night in 1923,  and left ius n the shortest summer night on June 21.

Nina was light and cheerful people.

Death never was a part of she's plans. Two yeas  that we live with my Mom without NINA, quite clearly proved one well-known truth: while Mom is alive, you are not orphans. I can add: still alive grandmother,  you a child.

In my childhood, when we went along with Nina, she is often called my mother, she was always young and beautiful. I have always resisted such a slowness of others, trying to explain the truth. Nina always laugh (to call her grandmother neither me nor it did not occur to the head). and now, looking forfard old photos, I seem to hear her laughter crystal.

Portrait with Rose always liked for me

[on the back signature "in 1944"]

-- Whether it's you? -- Sometimes mocking, I asked, trying to tease a little Nina.

-- Look, what you will in my years - she smiled in response.

Look ...

Beauty has been meaning to Nina's life.

"I have a mirror on my breakfast !" - she jokes to requests to share "secret of youth."

Sew clothes only from a personal tailor, eat only from the beautiful dishes, live only beautiful and otherwise - why live?)

It's all of  Nina's grand style of life.

... the last two weeks of Nina's life took place in the resuscitation department, she came several times in themselves. Nina once asked when she finally let home, at another time, hesitantly admitted:

"This is the end ... but this can not be!"

... on that last evening when we are with Mom reluctant to Nina's already lifeless body, the hospital door is something to move, I have under their feet.

"The cat" - I thought, but by looking closely, I see a bird in the dark,  hospital Cupid, which could not fly.

I grew up in theNina's hands  (extreme left photo does not accidental), she read aloud to me, her friends were my friends, always puts me over the table and discuss any topic with me. When I went to school, she left work and we played with she on school: half the letters she wrote, half - I.

... and even Nina was ease woman! I remember I once lamented her:

-- Well, why I was born in the winter? Birthday cope much cooler summer!

-- Why you decided that it can not be noted twice? -- she objected.

To my surprise summer table was quickly covered and guests gathered so far, she managed to cook his crown air cake.

Wow... This is a beautiful tribute to your GrandNina... I enjoyed reading about her & seeing your wonderful photos... I think it must have been that generation (those born in the late teens & early 20s...) to always look beautiful even at breakfast... always wear a dress and jewelry... even now at 89 my Mother is this way...

I'm sorry for your loneliness... may your memories give you comfort... An exquisite tabblo, Den!!!

Wonderful tribute to your grandmother, Den. Nice to have these wonderful photos as well as your memories of her to cherish. I try to be positive about the loss of loved one's, but all the sentiments don't fill the space that they should occupy. You just have to move on, but keep them in your heart & mind.
