Superb images! ... On a lighter note, I feel like I am in the planet Krypton, Superman's home world, which revolved around a red sun called Rao. :-)

The photos are so beautiful... all the fires so sad...

There is a saying... "Red sun in the morning, sailors take warning... Red sun at night, sailors delight"
I wonder if it still holds true when it is the fires making the red...

Oh my, somehow my perspective of the photos changed when you explained that the color of the sun is affected by the raging fires in Northern California! I can imagine how intense the situation is in your part of the earth, so much so that even the sun reflects the fiery drama below. I hope you are well over there.
